Thanks for the comment, Jennifer. Other companies are able to make organic cheese crackers without MSG; I would think Annie’s should be able to as well. We do have to be so careful, don’t we? But the health benefits are worth it.

I was so glad to see someone else made the same discovery that I did with Annie’s snacks. I have been buying the cheddar bunnies for my children regularly. I now stopped buying Annies and found that my local grocery store has their own organic version of cheddar crackers. I am very careful as to what my family eats due to all the chemicals that are in processed foods now. We have noticed a difference in our overall health and emotional well being since we started paying attention to what we put into our bodies.

I found your site because I too just read the Cheddar Bunnies packaging for the 100th time and noticed Yeast Extract. I’m not sure how I missed it before! So disappointed, it was one of the only junk foods I allowed my daughter to eat. Oh well, no more!

I’ve done research on nutritional yeast and most of them contain msg as well.

Robert’s American Gourmet Food does a pretty good job with only “nutritional yeast” in the tings. Others have no odd ingredients.

Thanks for reading, Rita. I’m sure a lot of people think I overreact since I am so strict about what we eat! True, Annie’s may be better than those other two, but I think they can do better – and should do better. Until then, I vote with my money and don’t buy Annie’s! It’s not easy all the time, but it’s something I am passionate about.

I seriously think you’re overreacting. Everything in restaurants contain MSG these days. Annie’s is still a better alternative to Goldfish crackers and Cheez It anyday.
